For age groups U6-U10, Herndon provides the House Recreational League, with players assigned to several teams that are scheduled in weekly games against each other at the same field in Herndon each season. Each team is coached by a volunteer parent coach, who is responsible for adhering to our club's rules for the specific age group.

For age groups U11 and above, Herndon participates in the NCSL Rec League, with HYS players assigned to represent Herndon teams and play scheduled games against other clubs in the area. The schedule is split between home and away, and some travel is involved. Each team is coached by a volunteer parent coach, who is responsible for knowing the rules and procedures of the NCSL Rec League.
