• Herndon Technical Director Nick Arzani welcomed Lionel Messi, the coach Martino and the Argentina National Team during their stay in Washington, D.C. for an exhibition match against El Salvador in April . Nick Arzani, along with HYS coach Martin Sanchez, had special access to the players and coaches for nine days, collaborating and participating in the National Team’s training sessions. The team presented Arzani with an official Argentina National Team jersey signed by each player, including Messi.

  • Tim Ryan Scholarship

      In spring 2008 Herndon Youth Soccer began awarding $1,000 college scholarships annually to high school seniors who have participated in the club as a player, referee, coach and/or volunteer. The scholarships will be awarded based on the applicant’s involvement in the club over the years, their application and an essay. Recipients will be announced in May/June with monetary distribution made directly to the college or other post-secondary institution upon proven acceptance.   • The Herndon Ciclones Black U9b had a great weekend in Virginia Beach smashing the U9-10 competition at the Ralph Downey Memorial winning all 4 games and scoring 48 goals/only giving up 3.
  • HYS Vipers U13 boys – champions of the Ralph Downey Memorial Day Tournament.  The team coached by Jon Halterman-Mitchell and Victor Jovel went 4-0, scoring 21 goals and allowing only 2.
  • The U9 Herndon Curve had the honor of hosting Washington Spirit Defender, Whitney Church on May 21 to lead a training session.  The team won this opportunity with the Spirit and the girls truly enjoyed this special session.  Whitney, an Ashburn native who played for Broad Run and Penn State joined the Spirit and continues [...]

  • Herndon Nacionals Red were Champions at the Cherry Blossom Tournament in Boyds, MD going undefeated and only allowing 1 goal in the tournament.

ON TIME SPRING REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. REGISTRATION FOR FALL 2015 WILL BEGIN IN MID JUNE.  
For scholarship players, you must turn in a copy of the scholarship form: www.fairfaxcounty.gov/ncs/forms/ysspformr.pdf signed by the school or both the form and proof of eligibility if the form is not school signed. Failure to turn in completed paperwork will mean the scholarship is denied.

ANNOUNCING THE HERNDON YOUTH SOCCER 2014 COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
RYAN LESANE: Graduating from Potomac Falls HS and attending East Stroudsburg University where he will play soccer. Ryan has been a member of the NCSL Division 1 Herndon Athletic and has volunteered his time for the past 1 1/2 years coaching a boys team in the SFL.
CASEY MARTIN: Graduating from Herndon HS and will be attending Lynchburg College. Case played for both travel and rec in HYS and for the past year has coaches a team of U10g in the rec league.

Tim Ryan was a long time HYS coach and volunteer who died in 2007 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. He coached for his children’s soccer teams from microkicks to all-stars to travel, along the way founding some very successful travel teams. Tim fought the battle with cancer the same way he did everything else, with optimism, strength and faith. Tim exemplified the spirit of good sportsmanship and volunteerism that is prized by every sports organization and we are honored to award these scholarships in his name.

CONGRATULATIONS to 2013 winners TYLER HUTCHINS and SELIM ZEMNI.
Tyleris a long time player in both house and travel (Herndon Fire and Herndon Blackhawks)who also has been a referee for Herndon for many years. He is graduating from South Lakes, where he also played on the boys Varsity, and will attend Virginia Tech.
Selim is a life long house league player, long time referee and also played on the Herndon HS boys varsity team. He graduates from Herndon and will attend the University of Virginia.
