Registration

FALL REGISTRATION will begin in mid June.

In early June, please see the HOUSE section of web site for all information and dates for the fall season.

DO NOT use old links to register your child as you will be registering for the wrong season. You must use the links we will post here once registration is open.

For those players requesting scholarships you will need to REGISTER ( online, in person or by mail) as well as complete the scholarship forms. DO NOT just send us a scholarship form without registering also. If you register online, indicate "pay by check” when you get to the payment option and then mail in the scholarship form which must either be signed by a school official OR accompanied by proof of free/reduced lunch or Medicaid assistance. Many area schools will also have copies of the scholarship form, we will have them at in-person registration or you may print a form from this link:

The Herndon Youth Soccer Tim Ryan Memorial Scholarships

UPDATE: the 2013 winners have been selected and will be announced at the recipients school award ceremonies; will post here after.

In spring 2008 Herndon Youth Soccer began awarding two $1000 college scholarships annually to two high school seniors who have participated in the club as a player, referee, coach and/or volunteer. The scholarships will be awarded based on the applicant’s involvement in the club over the years, their application and essay. Recipients will be announced in June with monetary distribution made directly to the college or other post secondary institution upon proven acceptance.

Tim Ryan was a long time HYS coach and volunteer who died in 2007 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. He coached for his children’s soccer teams from microkicks to all-stars to travel, along the way founding some very successful travel teams. Tim fought the battle with cancer the same way he did everything else, with optimism, strength and faith. Tim exemplified the spirit of good sportsmanship and volunteerism that is prized by every sports organization and we are honored to award these scholarships in his name.

CONGRATULATIONS to 2012 winners RACHEL DURRWACHTER and VICTOR JOVEL.

Rachel, a lifetime HYS player, first in the house leage and then later on the Herndon Magic, is also a long time HYS referee. She is graduating from Paul VI and will attend William and Mary.

Victor , who played for 5 years in the SFL, has been coaching the last year and a half, as head coach in U8g, U10b and the first place U10b fall all-star team. He is graduating from Herndon HS and will attend NOVA.

Herndon Inferno NCSL U13b Sportsmanshio winner
CONGRATULATIONS to the U13b HERNDON INFERNO winners of the fall 2012 NCSL Sportsmanship award! With only one winner per age group this is a hard award to win so we are super proud of them. They will be honored along with the other age group winners at half time of the DC United home opener March 9th which the whole team will attend courtesy of NCSL.

Winter Indoor Soccer
HYS will offer programs for U5-U6; U7-U8 and U9-U12 all under the direction of HYS Technical Director Nick Arzani and his staff.

UPDATE: as of 12/15/12 the U9-U12 SESSION IS FULL. DO NOT SEND IN ANY MORE REGISTRATIONS FOR U9-U12. We do still have openings in the U5-U6 and U7-U8.

Nacionals win First Championship
The U9 Nacionals Black coached by HYS Technical Director Nick Arzani, came to play, and play they did. Competing in the Dulles National Soccer Tournament, the Nationals came together for the first time to compete as a team and display their command of the ball and the field. Scoring 29 goals and allowing 0 against over 4 games, they demonstrated their impressive speed, foot skills, passing, goal tending, and striking to bring that championship home to Herndon! Hail Hail Nacional!!
